Believe it: You Can Design Yourself

No more excuses…It’s time to Design Yourself!

You’ve been struggling for years trying to define yourself, attempting to quash your insecurities, striving for the better version of YOU, and all this time, you’ve placed your efforts on the external, on what is, or has been, occurring around you instead of focusing on what is going on inside of you.

You have minimal to absolutely no immediate impact and control over your surroundings, so stop funneling efforts externally. If you crave positive change such as increasing your tolerance in stressful situations or improving your overall health, then you must analyze the foundation with which you’ve built these faulty areas upon, and those foundations are located in your mind. Only YOU have the ability to tear down and rebuild crumbling internal structures.

No one person will give you what you have desired for so long, and nothing you can buy will magically fix this but YOU.

Think about it: you buy clothes, make-up, accessories, etc. to make you feel better – but deep down, nothing changes,  and your insecurities still fester. You want that perfect ‘bod’, so you buy into all these diet programs and trends, but you, nor any of your friends ever obtain the statuesque figure as advertised, or if someone does, the changes are never permanent. This constant fail rate boils down to one common denominator: you keep focusing on external factors.

Keep in mind that every story has more than one, two, or even three versions, and it’s all based on perception. Step outside of your head for a little while to obtain some fresh perspectives on your current challenges and lifestyle choices. Focusing on yourself is not self-ish – it is necessary for reaching your full potential.

Some of my favorite quotes on the subject:

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

― Mahatma Gandhi

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

― Margaret Mead

“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.”

― Leo Tolstoy

“And that is how change happens. One gesture. One person. One moment at a time.”

― Libba BrayThe Sweet Far Thing

“The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself.”
